Solenix has recently been awarded with an ESA Kick-Start Activity. This is a funding scheme launched by the Integrated Applications Promotion at ESA, which supports the development of innovative ideas that make use of space capabilities and data.
Solenix submitted a proposal under the topic "Outdoor Tourism". The goal of this project is to conduct a feasibility study to explore if the proposed business idea has market potential.
We proposed to develop and launch a social community platform for underwater divers. This platform will allow divers not only to track and share their experiences, but also to increase the safety of this activity by obtaining environmental information and to contribute to the preservation and protection of the diving sites, thanks to the use of space assets.
The working name for the platform is Dively.
The kick-off of the project took place on 6 June and the project will conclude towards the end of the year with a final presentation, outlining the consolidated business plan and technical solution for Dively.
We are looking forward to the opportunity of developing Dively: a product that not only combines the passion for diving of many Solenix's colleagues, but also involves our experience with data from space.
Note: Dively is conducted under a programme of, and co-funded by, the European Space Agency. The view expressed in this article can in no way be taken to reflect the official opinion of the European Space Agency.
