Our colleague Itziar Alonso was present at the European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly last week. This event is the largest European conference on this topic and it takes place every year in Vienna. This year over 15'000 attendants from 106 countries participated.
The European Space Agency was present at the conference with a booth, where live demonstrations, toolboxes and several initiatives were shown. Itziar is a member of the Thematic Exploitation Platforms (TEPs) Core Team and was at the booth to introduce them to the conference attendees. The Thematic Exploitation Platforms are collaborative, virtual working environments providing access to EO data and tools, processors and ICT resources. There are currently seven platforms grouped by themes: Geohazards, Urban, Coastal, Forestry, Polar, Hydrology and Food Security.
More info on the event is available here and on the TEPs, here.
