Last weekend the Solenix team travelled to Würzburg (Germany) for a weekend break away.
On Friday afternoon, we visited the winery "Weingut am Stein", where we were treated to a wine tasting session. We had the chance to learn some more about the region of Franconia, their grapes and their famous wines. After preparing our palates at the winery, we headed to the "Backöfele", a fine traditional restaurant, where we tasted the best of the local cuisine.
Saturday was an intense day, packed with the right amount of sight-seeing, gaming and enjoyment! We started the day with a tour of the city of Würzburg, visiting its top hotspots and being transported back in history: from the foundation of the city to its reconstruction after the second World War. The afternoon awaited with some team-based challenges, including a giant Jenga and the puzzle of the tower of Hanoi! The group was divided into three teams that tried their best at scoring the most points. But that was not all! After putting all the brain power into solving the puzzles, the teams had to use a city map and some hints to find the mysterious Mr. X, who was hiding in plain sight in the streets of Würzburg. After catching Mr. X, all teams had a fantastic reward: an evening at the Würzburger Weindorf, with plenty of food, drinks and laughter!
The weekend finished with an impressive visit on Sunday morning: the Residenz, a palace listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to its fine baroque style.
After a short train journey back to Darmstadt, we said goodbye to an awesome weekend, which will be remembered... at least until the next team event!
