Solenix awarded contract for the maintenance of EUMETSAT’s Mission Performance Monitoring Tools29 January 2018

We are very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a new contract to continue the maintenance and evolution of the Mission Performance Monitoring Tools (MPMT) at EUMETSAT for an initial period of three years. This new contract, which officially started on 01 January 2018, is the continuation of the successful collaboration between Solenix and EUMETSAT to deliver sustained maintenance of this family of applications and to provide engineering and user support services.

Solenix presents the results of the OGC Testbed 13 project in Washington19 January 2018

The OGC Testbed 13 demonstration event took place in Reston (Virginia) on 12 and 13 of December at the USGS National Centre. Around 100 participants attended the demonstration of the outcomes of the latest annual testbed initiative. The initiative, which was partially sponsored by ESA, sought to research and rapidly develop prototype solutions to identified geospatial IT problems.

Solenix presents the results of Dively in Bonn17 January 2018

In June 2017 Solenix was awarded with an ESA Kick-Start Activity. This is a funding scheme launched by ESA Business Applications and particularly designed for SMEs looking for opportunities to develop new ideas for business applications making use of space assets. The Kick-Start Programme is organised in Thematic Calls, which cover interesting markets.

First Release of Open-Source Virtual Globe for Web Applications12 December 2017

We are very pleased to announce the first release of Web WorldWind, a free and open-source virtual globe for HTML5 with a JavaScript API. This first release, labelled 0.9.0, brings to the community a consolidated package, resulting from the excellent collaboration between the NASA WorldWind technical team and the European technical team led by Solenix and funded by ESA.

Solenix participates in an H2020 project: openEO!07 December 2017

openEO - A Common, Open Source Interface between Earth Observation Data Infrastructures and Front-End Applications is a project that has received funding from the European Union's  Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. Solenix is very proud to be one of the ten European consortium partners under the coordination of the Technical University of Vienna, together with the University of Münster, the University of Wageningen, VITO, Mundialis, Sinergise, EURAC Research, the Joint Reserach Centre of the EC and  EODC.

Solenix to support “paperless” ground segment engineering!22 November 2017

Solenix will support ESA in the development of a concept and an accompanying software tool to support ground segment design activities. Solenix’s activities are part of a contract recently awarded to a Telespazio Vega Deutschland led consortium with the main goal to develop the architecture and an initial version of an environment that will achieve “paperless” ground segment engineering.

Solenix Deutschland GmbH (DE), with its subcontractors GISAT s.r.o (CZ), Progressive Systems Srl (IT), Qualteh JR Srl (RO) and TERRASIGNA Srl (RO), is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the European Space Agency (ESA) for the maintenance and evolution of mobile applications for the Space Component of Copernicus - the European Earth Observation Programme.

Solenix at ESOC's Long Night of the Stars23 October 2017

On 8th September, ESOC organised the "Long Night of the Stars" event to celebrate its 50 year anniversary. This event was open to the public and gathered visitors from Darmstadt and its surroundings, passionate for space and fascinated by the activities that are conducted at ESOC. Our colleagues Toril Bye Rinnan and Thorsten Graber took part in the event showing future concepts and plans for human-robotic missions in the Moon tent. We met up with them to know more about their experience.

Solenix at the 7th Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing18 September 2017

Our colleague Alessandro Marin was one of the lecturers during the "7th Advanced Training Course on Land Remote Sensing" that took place at the Szent István University, in Gödöllő, Hungary.

More than 70 students from more than 30 countries attended the course on "Cloud Computing and the ESA Exploitation Platforms", which provided them the chance to explore the pre-operation versions of the different Thematic Exploitation Platforms.
